Hello!

I was just curious if there was any way to fix the huge variation I have been getting in BIOS times. Sometimes it is under 10 seconds, sometimes well over 30 seconds. Is there any underlying cause to this? Is there any way to fix it?

Here are my system details:

  • OS SSD: Samsung 860 EVO SSD - 500GB
  • Hard Drive: 3TB Internal Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming WiFi
  • GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
  • CPU: i5-8600k
  • Ram: Corsair Vengeance RGB 2666MHz 16 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 Home (64-Bit)

Thanks!

IS it noticeably slowing down your pc? can you tell any difference?

The bios time in Startup tab of Task Manager is the time it takes the BIOS to hand control to windows. Its possibly updating chipset drivers might help here, or update the BIOS.

I seen people report 40 minutes showing here. Sometimes the time recorded doesn't match reality.
