BIOS update failure - Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5

I am on the "F5" version of the bios, trying to use appcenter version of @BIOS to update the bios. Everything appears to be working, connects to server in U.S.A. just fine, downloads, then starts "reading", then the loading bar fills completely, then @BIOS closes. No matter how long I leave it nothing continues or prompts me to restart. When I restart my computer the bios is not registered as updated and literally no change can be noticed by me even if I don't restart my PC. This happened with the "F6" bios update and now they have released "F7" and it still fails to update without any kind of error message or anything. It just closes as if that is what it is supposed to do.

Mine is doing the same thing. Just set it up today. Even trying just downloading the file and loading from file within app center and get the same results.

I always download the bios to a USB stick and update via USB through the BIOS. I hate APP Center and removed it after the first time I used it. I find it very buggy..

As always "if it ain't broke don't update" and "if you update use usb stick on usb 3.0/usb 2.0"

Ok I have heard that on google a few times right. But no one is saying how and where I download the BIOS to a USB. I can't find a download page for the F7 BIOS from Gigabyte. As for "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I get occasional "tcpip.sys" bsod which google says is fixed by updating the BIOS as well as other problems such as issues with my Oculus Rift that are small and rare that may or may not be fixed by a BIOS update. Honestly if you don't think updating a BIOS is important you are in the wrong part of the internet buddy.

Looks like you dont know how to look in the right place. F7 was released on 17/07/2018. Download it and place the unzipped files on a thumb srive and run Qflash/easy flash. But before that tcpip.sys is related to networking. Uninstall all drivers of Lan, Wifi/Bluetooth(if any) and reinstall them.

And yes I still believe updating a bios is not important as long as new features that are important or a deal breaker are not added to it.

Exactly, I do the same thing, works much better and it's more reliable.


Just updated both my AORUS Z370 Gaming 5 and AORUS Z370 Ultra Gaming to the newest BIOS not that long ago.
