Hello.
I am upgrading the CPU from a Ryzen 5 7500F to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and I want to know if the
ASRock B650 PG Riptide is good enough, and I have a question about the BIOS update.
I am on BIOS version 1.21 and I want to update it to version 3.20 which is the latest version.

I want to know if I can update directly from 1.21 to 3.20, or i need to update every BIOS version betwen 1.21 to 3.20 ?

ASRock are currently going through a rough spell with their motherboards due to an issue with their BIOS. I'd advise going with MSI, Gigabyte or Asus(although that last one is something I'd avoid).

If you already own the motherboard;

you should pay attention to the highlighted text in yellow, which is a warning or a prerequisite for your BIOS update. You should be good to flash your BIOS to the latest version, after you've updated your chipset drivers.

Thanks for the reply but i am still confused.
I already have Asrock mobo so i can't change it.
And what is that "chipset driver' you are talking about.
From where to download that driver.
I was thinking that all i was needed was to download the latest BIOS version on a flash drive and flash the motherboard.
I don't know anything about chipset driver.
Will you please be more specific in Your explanation.

Hello.
I have Asrock B650 PG riptide.I bye Ryzen 7 9800x3d and i need bios update.
My Bios is 1.21 and i whanna update to the latest version which is 3.20.
Betwen 1.21 and 3.20 is been 19 update.Do i have to download all of these 19 update or i can update directly to 3.20.
Also i wanna ask if is been some different update that is been required for the Ryzen 7 9800x3d.
The best is if somebody here just give me a list of update that are required and the exact order in which they must be use so all to be well.
I can't go the a special servis shop because in my town the there is nobody that to know exactly these specific things about that type of motherboard.
I wright before here but i don't receive the exact information i need like for example-this update and after that this update...you now what i mean.
My only hope is somebody here to help me because i don't know what to do.

Please stick to one thread unless you want spaghetti brains.

Download the latest chipset drivers from here;
https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
then install the latest driver in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

As for steps on how to update the BIOS, did you click on the blue highlighted text that says Instant Flash on the motherboard's BIOS page here;
https://pg.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B650M PG Riptide/index.asp#BIOS
?

It shows you the steps to flash your BIOS.

Ok sorry but please will you give me a specific answer what i need to do and the exact order to do it.

choose which one from the options below to install the driver you must be in windows 11 or 10 to install this chipset driver first before updating the bios.

windows 11
https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/AMD_Chipset_Software_7.04.09.545.exe

windows 10
https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/AMD_Chipset_Software_7.04.09.545.exe

once you do that i do not see a reason why you cant go from 1.21 to 3.20

how to update your motherboard download the global version

you will need a usb of at least 8gb or higher i recomend usb 2.0 or usb 3.0.
make sure its formatted to fat 32 then

download the file from asock website and follow instructions below.

I updated the bios and everyting is OK.
I updated the chipset driver and directly update the bios to 3.20 with no problem.
Thanks for everything.If it wasn't for you i will have to pay money to somebody for the update.
Wish you all the best.
