Hey, so, I'm an absolute noob to this stuff, however, I've done my research, I've shopped around and after a few weeks I've settled on the parts I'd be happy with and that are within my budget. I've never built a PC before so I'm especially cautious of this.
I used PCPartPicker just to reassure myself that my parts were compatible. It told me there was a compatibility issue between my CPU and my motherboard, the parts in question are:
AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor and Asus M5A97 R2.0 AMD 970. It says "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs."
Like I said, complete noob at this stuff, I've a good understanding of hardware, but the software goes a bit over my head. I just want to know plain and simple, does this compatability issue apply to the parts I'm choosing, or will I have to do a manual update, and if so, how I would I do it?
Also, I hope this is in the correct category, apologies if it's not.
