Bios update for my motherboard

I have a Ryzen 3 1200 and looking to upgrae to a Ryzen 5 2600 and I wanna know if I need to update my motherboard bios and I have a Asus B350 Prime-plus and the version was back in 2017 and im asking because I dont really want to have to buy a new mb

Updating the BIOS is the smart thing to do. That way you ensure the new CPU is supported.

Unless you're currently running BIOS version 3803 or later, you will need to update the BIOS before installing the new CPU.

If you have an overclock, remove it. Then update to the latest bios. You should be good to go.
