Question BIOS update for z690

so i am trying to update my bios on my new z690 mobo, it takes 2 8 pin power connectors for the CPU, i do not have the cpu yet but even when it does arrive its a 13th gen i5, do i need to plug in both power connectors to update the bios?

Most likely, your motherboard will come with a suitable 13th gen bios.
It has been available since last June.
On my motherboard, the instructions say you only need the 24 pin power and eps power_1 to flash.
