I just got a new cpu so I was updating my bios (asus) and when I was in the utility section my mouse and keyboard froze and I can’t do anything. I need a solution
No I was about to click on the cap file and it just frozeDid you try disconnecting the keyboard/mouse and reconnecting?
This sounds more like a lockup, than an input device issue. Did the BIOS update process actually begin?
Good. Just trying pressing your reset button and restarting the system. No I was about to click on the cap file and it just froze
What is the reset button?Good. Just trying pressing your reset button and restarting the system.
What CPU/motherboard combo are you using?
Oh okayDoes your case have both a power and a reset button? If not, just power down the system with the toggle switch on the back of the system on the power supply. Then return to the on position and try powering on again.
What specific Asus motherboard? What CPU did you previously have installed?
Ok then but still when I boot up the bios it keeps freezing the mouse and keyboardThis? https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/VivoPC-M32CD/
If so, the 9th gen CPU will not work in that system. Sorry.
With the old CPU?Ok then but still when I boot up the bios it keeps freezing the mouse and keyboard
Is that necessary?Try resetting the BIOS to its default settings manually.
First, disconnect all power sources (power cable, video cable, and powered speakers).
Next, press the power button to discharge any residual power in the system (yep, I mean it).
Then, open the case and locate the motherboard battery. Remove it, noting which side goes "up". Wait 1 minute and re-insert it.
Reverse the previous steps and try powering on and accessing your BIOS.
Will do tIs that necessary?
Whar do you mean by re-install?Just trying to get you back to a working system. Up to you to try or not.
Just don't re-install the i5 9400f. It will not work in that motherboard and you could damage the CPU and/or the motherboard.
Don't try putting the I5 9400F back into the motherboard. It is NOT compatible with your system. Will do t
