I have an ASROCK A320m-HDV R4.0, my current version is 3.30, Im trying to update to 3.40 but when I got bios and try to update it, it says no image file detected, i did everything correct, i put it on a fat32 usb. I tried doing 4.40 and my bios was able to detect it. So it detects 3.40 but not 4.40

What CPU do you currently have and are you planning to change that? Why are you only going to version 3.4, or even 4.4, rather than just going straight to 8.01?
I might just go from 3.30 to 4.40, skipping 3.40. Would u recommend this? Ive tried everything. the mobo site says i should update to 3.40 first and its a bridge bios but should i just skip it?

Where do you see that it says that? Because I've looked multiple times at every single update version's notes on the BIOS page and I don't see that it says that anywhere.

It does however say you have to install BIOS version 7.0 before installing any of the ones that are newer than that, so can't go straight to 8.01 as I suggested earlier. But, I don't see anything on there that says you can't go straight to 7.0.

Do you already have the Ryzen 5500? If not I'd wait because ALL of the BIOS versions, including the one you have right now to be honest, say not to run that version with a Pinnacle ridge CPU installed and your Ryzen 2300 IS a Pinnacle ridge CPU. So obviously it CAN work with one installed, but for whatever reason they are recommending that versions newer than 2.3 shouldn't be used with Pinnacle, Raven, Summit or Bristol ridge CPUs. So it would be best to already have a Cezanne, Matisse or Vermeer CPU before updating to anything newer than what you have now or it may simply not work at all until you do install a newer CPU than your 2300 afterwards.

Exactly. It's you who is not looking at the correct motherboard. For motherboards, a R1.0, R2.0, R3.0, etc. are all assumed to be ENTIRELY different boards. A BIOS update for release 1.0 is NOT suitable for use with a board from release 4.0. So yes, I AM sure I was looking at the correct board, and the link you posted, is NOT for that board. The link that thestryker posted, IS.

Ok, well fair enough but no big deal. So, did you get it sorted now? All updated and working or at least feel confident about the specifics now? Just want to make sure. Sorry, was a very busy week for me or I'd have gotten back with you sooner plus just getting to feeling a little better after being basically deathly sick.
