Where do you see that it says that? Because I've looked multiple times at every single update version's notes on the BIOS page and I don't see that it says that anywhere.
It does however say you have to install BIOS version 7.0 before installing any of the ones that are newer than that, so can't go straight to 8.01 as I suggested earlier. But, I don't see anything on there that says you can't go straight to 7.0.
Do you already have the Ryzen 5500? If not I'd wait because ALL of the BIOS versions, including the one you have right now to be honest, say not to run that version with a Pinnacle ridge CPU installed and your Ryzen 2300 IS a Pinnacle ridge CPU. So obviously it CAN work with one installed, but for whatever reason they are recommending that versions newer than 2.3 shouldn't be used with Pinnacle, Raven, Summit or Bristol ridge CPUs. So it would be best to already have a Cezanne, Matisse or Vermeer CPU before updating to anything newer than what you have now or it may simply not work at all until you do install a newer CPU than your 2300 afterwards.
