Hello,

I got my new memory in today. I was running Corsair Vengeance 2400Mhz 4 x 8gb. The new memory is Corsair 2 x 16gb 3200Mhz and it was on sell so I said wth.

Once I put the memory in it and with XMP enabled, at the top of the BIOS it showed 2300Mhz. I updated my BIOS to the most recent update(this month) and now it finally shows 3200Mhz. When I am in Windows though and run CPU-Z it shows 1600Mhz for the DRAM frequency. It shows the same as before. Could it be wrong? Could there still be a problem with the memory speed? I tried running a game to see if the speed would increase but it didn't. I have screenshots before and after. Is there another way to check the memory speed besides CPU-Z? I have memtest86 on USB but I don't know if it shows speed. Never ran it.

I am worried even though in BIOS it shows 3200Mhz now, its still only running at the default 2300Mhz.

Also, I noticed my CAS went from 15 to 16 as it should be in CPU-Z. I updated CPU-Z and it shows the same info.

Link to screenshots of CPU-Z and BIOS.

After the BIOS update I have to admit I was extremely happy as I noticed the speed changed in BIOS but once I saw CPU-Z my heart sank.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Guys, I am such an idiot. I thought CPU-Z was showing the old info but its 1600 which would be x 2 so its running 3200Mhz. Rejoice! Sorry, I was born blonde. This is what happens when you work in IT for 16 years and have to deal with old women all day....brain is fried.
