So I downloaded a few updates including a bios update from Dell, which has prompted me to restart the pc in order to finish the update.

Before restarting I read online from multiple users that the bios update failed and their computers wouldn't even start up.

Should I system restore before restarting my system?

Some helpful advice would be much appreciated.

System Restore won't help a failed BIOS update. The computer has to boot to Windows for that, and a bad BIOS won't let it get that far.
If you mean to Restore your system to before the update was down loaded then yes that would be advisable. I've heard of a few cases where older BIOS were preferable to new ones from Dell. I would always do a BIOS update separate from other updates. Unless you have some specific need for a BIOS update like memory ,or CPU support I would skip it.

I restarted my pc, but I don't think the BIOS update installed because Dell is asking me to update the BIOS again, so I'm just gonna skip it.
Thanks William.
