Hi! I just got an MSI Z97 Gaming 5 for my Intel Core i5 4690K. When I try turning on the computer , nothing appears on the screen. I've looked only and some people said that Z97 motherboards need a BIOS update to be compatible with Devil's Canyon CPUs. Do you think that's the case with this motherboard? Should I get a cheap CPU like a Celeron G1840 that is compatible with the old BIOS to flash the new version?

Specs say that the enabling bios was released 12/2014
New motherboards after that will come with the latest bios.
I might guess that your problem lies elsewhere.

If you bought used, then possibly.
Take the cpu out and carefully inspect the socket pins.
They are easily damaged if you smooshed the cpu around to seat it.

Where do you see that? Nothing in the description of BIOS 1.2 mentions adding support for Haswell refresh.

Pretty sure that was adding support for Broadwell.

Z97 motherboards should support Haswell refresh from the start.
