Hello guys
so i got my new motherboard asrock b550m steel legend with bios update 1.60 that doesnt support ryzen 5000G series
So i went to a pc shop and update my motherboard using a Ryzen 5 3400G to latest version 2.20 that support 5000G
however i still dont get a signal and im getting in debug screen BOOT VGA CPU light
so when i went to bios version page https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550M Steel Legend/index.asp#BIOS i found this with yellow -To support Ryzen 5000 G-series processors, it requires to update the BIOS with Matisse, Renoir or Vermeer CPU -
my two questions are : 1-can i reflash the same bios version 2- does flashing the motherboard with 3000/4000G/5000 cpu is necessary to 5000G to work cause i flashed it with Picasso 3400G to latest version 2.20

EDIT : i reflashed the same bios version with a ryzen 5 4600G now my 5600G is working

1- yes you could
2- as per what i saw, you could try shut down the pc, press clr cmos button for 10 secs, release, and try to power it on again.

This one is a little confusing to be honest. On the CPU support page it says the 3400G needs BIOS version 2.10 in order for it to run, (so i cant see how the PC shop used a 3400G to flash to version 2.20? ) So just so Im clear, the PC shop used a 3400G to flash the BIOS from version 1.60 to 2.20? If that's the case, I wouldnt be surprised if they've bricked your board.

it's just asrock weird listing, picasso apus are supposed to work without any bios updates, unless he told us that the pc booted up to bios just fine on the 3400g, well that motherboard doesn't have bios flashback but it does have clr cmos, that's why he could try that and it might reset the bios

I think one of the problems is the fact B550 boards were not supposed to support the 2nd and 3rd gen ryzen APU's, (i believe many still dont,) but for those that do, they probably rushed out BIOS versions to support these chips but if the board originally had version 1.60 and the shop updated the BIOS to 2.20 using a 3400G, i cant help but think they've bricked it.
