Okay so i only have the stock cooler on my cpu and one 140mm fan on the front (extract fan)

i went into bios and it says the cpu temps is 39-40 degrees

i dont have a os installed,

some people say heat sensors can be way off and bios but some people say bios is accurate what should i believe.

i dont want to install the os incase cpu overheats ?

Solution
Bios does NOT show idle temps, as cnq/speedstep and c1e does not activate in bios. Coretemp and any other temp monitoring software shows instantaneous temps; niether idle nor load (no such thing as overload) unless the cpu is in idle or load. 40c is far from overheating and you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
