Bios/Windows 7 SATA Problems

I have been looking throughout the forums, and I simply cannot find a solution...many of these are old threads.
I have had my computer for about two years now, only upgrading where and when necessary. Recently I decided to wipe my computer and start clean--just for the fun of it. I am running an i7-3770 in a Sabertooth Z77. 24GB ram, dual Geforce 760's in SLI, Sound Blaster ZXR, two optical drives, 1 500GB Samsung SSD, and 1 1TB WD HDD. Windows 7 x64.

Once upon a time they worked, no issues...now, the bios will use the SSD, but does not see the HDD. I have tried the HDD on every SATA port, nothing. I have checked that the ports work by plugging my SSD in every port, restarted, and they all worked. I thought perhaps it was the HDD, so I went yesterday, bought two new WD 2TB HDD (one can always use more space, right?!)

Well the same issue is happening; as in they are not spinnig up or showing up either. I have checked that the bios is up to date with version 2104, and reflashed just to be sure. I have switched from AHCI (no luck) to IDE (no luck) to Raid (no luck) back to AHCI. I have changed SATA cables, with the ones that work for my optical drives (which are running correctly) and no luck. I thought that maybe, just maybe, it was the SATA ports that these needed to be on, but they are SATA/6GB, and therefore should be on the white ports-dedicated for such devices. (I also tried in place of my SDD, SATA port 1 and port 2).

I have swapped out the power supply cables, not only between SATA components, but on the modular power supply as well (1000W). I had the idea that maybe that specific node on the power supply was bad...not it.

I tore the entire maching apart yesterday, and reset the CMOS moving the jumper from the left two pins to the right two pins (no power) and back to the left. Other than that...WTF? It is as if the SATA controller is seeing the HDD and just not sending power on purpose, thereby not showing it.

Does anyone know what to do here?

I am using this Asmedia SATA Controller Driver V1.3.4.0 for Windows XP 32bit & XP 64bit & Win7 32bit & Win7 64bit.(WHQL)...

Merry Christmas.

Solution
If you don't know if you reset the cmos right unplug your system from power cord remove the battery for 30 mins yes 30 mins then reinstall the battery and plug the cord back in. then try it.
I feel like I have taken the "Blue Pill"... After some further research, I am wondering if it is possible that I have the wrong Controller driver? Is that the same as the PCH (Platform Controller Hub) or the ICH (I/O Controller Hub) and their respective drivers? Additionally, (as stupid as this sounds) I just learned the difference between Sata II and Sata III cables...will that make a difference in the detection of my HDDs? More questions than answers!
