Hello. I have an Intel Core i5-6500 compatile with Turbo Boost. I checked in BIOS and Turbo boost is On, but when I go to HWiNFO, it says it is Disabled (red). How do I fix this ?

I checked in BIOS and Turbo boost is On
The BIOS might not be setting the CPU up correctly. Are you using the most recent BIOS version for your motherboard? Issues like this are often times fixed with a BIOS update.

HWiNFO, it says it is Disabled (red).
If HWiNFO shows Turbo in red then it is true, Intel Turbo Boost is disabled.

Try running ThrottleStop 9.6.

If the Disable Turbo box is checked in ThrottleStop, try clearing that box. Hopefully that will get turbo boost working for you. Post some ThrottleStop screenshots if you have any problems.

The base multiplier for an i5-6500 is 32. If the ThrottleStop monitoring table shows any values higher than 32, that confirms Intel turbo boost is working correctly. Try running something simple to load the CPU like a TS Bench - 1 Thread test. I think the 36 multiplier is only available when a single core is active. After using ThrottleStop, you will need to restart HWiNFO so it can update the Turbo status flag.

The core C states also need to be enabled in the BIOS so your non K CPU can use the maximum turbo multiplier.

Thanks ! I have the latest BIOS version. I downloaded ThrottleStop and did as you said Turbo is now working properly. I just have anothe question. I also have EIST and SpeedShiftTechnology Disabled. Can I enable them using throttleStp 9.6, or shoul I use another utility ?

Turbo is now working properly
The latest BIOS version must not be setting your CPU up correctly. You will need to always run ThrottleStop to fix the Turbo problem.

Enable Speed Shift Technology (SST) and SpeedStep (EIST) in the BIOS if those options are available. The Speed Shift option might not be available on a motherboard for a 6th Gen CPU. If you cannot find either of those two options in the BIOS then you can use ThrottleStop to enable EIST and SST.

After you do that, boot up and post screenshots of ThrottleStop including the main window, the FIVR and TPL windows so I can see what options are available to you. For image hosting try using imgur.

I searched in BIOS, there is no SST or EIST. I successfully enabled them from ThrottleStop and here are the screenshots you demanded.
