Question Bios won't recognize Samsung 950 Pro

Hello folks, hopefully everybody is having a good Sunday.

Folks, I am trying to install a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 NVME drive to a Gigabyte H470M-DS3H mainboard. Nothing I do in Bios including an update will recognize this drive. When I move the drive to another mainboard (Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI) it works flawlessly.

What I am doing wrong here? I tried 2 other drives (an WDC & Nionix Kioxia brand) and they work fine in either slot - so the slots are good.

The specs for the mainboard says: "Dual NVMe PCIe Gen3 X4 M.2 Slots" and the exact words on the drive is " V-Nand SSD 950 Pro M.2 NVM Express MODEL MZ-VKV512"

Losing my mind.

Many thanks in advance!

EDIT: the WD drive that works fine in the H470M-DS3H is a SN730 NVM SSD OPAL and the Kioxia is a KBG40ZNS128G NVME SSD

Thanks again,
Daniella

See page 17 of your motherboard manual:

What SATA ports do you have in use? Note, some are disabled when the M.2 sockets are used.

If you install the Samsung in the alternate M.2 slot, does it make a difference (I assume you have something in that slot now and it works).
Hi thank you so much. I'm trying with no other devices. Just cpu ram and the Samsung. No go...

I've tried both sockets as well.

Weirdest thing ever...
