Firstly, my PC is working great after I replaced the motherboard from a Biostar G41D3+ to an ASUS P5G41T-M LX V2, but when it starts up the BIOS says BIOS needs updating, but I cannot open BIOS to read it. Tried all the usual stuff with no luck. I downloaded 'ASUS live update' which said all OK.
So am a bit confused about that, but more confused about I cannot read BIOS. CPU is a Xeon E5450 3.0 Ghz. Any ideas. ?

Yes....Tested the battery too, 3.11v..When I start up the BIOS does its thing with half a dozen beeps, it is very quick, but I noticed it said BIOS needs updating. Went through the open BIOS page routine but nothing happens, just opens Windows in about 30 seconds..

I update mine using an USB stick.

Asus Bios comes with built-in Asus EZ Bios Update, you can launch it from the Bios setup.

Took the battery out, did the jumper thing, waited 5 minutes, still the same, still will not go into BIOS, making me think there is something amiss in the BIOS department, so think I will forget it, as the PC works great..... 😊

Many times, even tried different keys....🙁
I am a bit confused as I downloaded ASUS Live Update, it said all up to date, so I don't understand why the BIOS boot up, which whizzes by, says update BIOS.
Anyhooooo, if a problem does develop I will just buy a replacement s/h motherboard, they cost peanuts where I am...
