I've recently purchased an AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition processor to upgrade my computer. When I try to boot my computer it tells me it doesn't recognize the CPU and powers off. I powered it on again and quickly get into the system scan. It recognizes the CPU then and passes with 100%? That doesn't make sense... I swap them out again and boot up my computer with my old processor. I've been searching for DAYS trying to find a BIOS update. I follow the procedure that HP instructs their customers to do, but no newer version is listed.. If someone could PLEASE help that would be awesome. Also.. they're both AM3 processors, so they should most definitely be compatible.

System Manufacturer HP-Pavilion
System Model NY638AA-ABA p6203w
System Type x64-based PC
Processor AMD Athlon II x2 215 Processor, 2700 Mhz, 2 Core(s)
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD 5.52, 9/14/2009
SMBIOS Version 2.5

:0 awesome... Thank you very much! I didn't plan on upgrading my motherboard, but how difficult is that? Hardware installation is easy, but will it just boot right up after that?
