Hi, I've been looking everywhere for a solution to this problem, but I have found no answers. For whatever reason, guns and weapons in Bioshock Infinite stopped making any sound effects in my game. They are completely inaudible. Everything else in the game world sounds normal. For about the first 5 hours of gameplay everything was fine, I could hear all weapons, but at some point guns and vigors stopped making any sounds. I kept playing for a bit, imagining it was a temporary glitch and it would fix itself eventually, but 1 hour later and nothing.

The game is borderline unplayable, since I cannot hear my own guns, nor the enemy guns, meaning I have no idea where enemies are when Im playing.

Did anyone experience this while playing the game? Can anyone help me out?

Im running:
Intel core i7 4770k 4.0gz
Gigabyte GTX 970
16 GB RAM
256GB SSD
1TB HDD

I did not change any audio playback options. The sound disappeared while playing mid-game. How do I run a Steam repair? Can't find any information on how to do it for Windows 10.

@henstergamer
"Verify games cache" is a mouthful, not to mention that, believe it or not, there are people that wouldn't even imagine that such a thing is used to try repairing the game 😛
It's much better to call it just "steam repair" and eventually give the right indications if someone doesn't know how to reach it IMO.

But yes, that's what it's called unfortunately...
