Good day everyone,I had a good gaming pc for a few years and i had no issues with performance, until last year towards the end of the year that my mobo packed up and I had no choice but to sell my cpu and ram. So I want to know whether this motherboard which i know is old can still handle intensive games for this year. Its been months since I never been gaming and I have been using my laptop for the meantime.

I still have my other pc parts from the pc which is:

1tb HDD
GTX 1070
630 watt bronze psu
24 inch LG Full HD 3D LED
gaming keyboard
gaming mouse
Zalman Mid Tower case
5.1 Logitech speakers

So far I bought a second hand i7 3770 and will be getting a secondhand 16gb DDR3 ram. I would like to play games at maximum settings and still enjoy smooth gameplay.Next year i will be upgrading the pc but for the meantime i want to enjoy the last of Ivy bridge generation gaming. Thanks.

The memory controller is on the CPU. The ram speeds that high are effectively overclocking the memory controller, depends if yours will run it or not.

You wont be overclocking the CPU on that motherboard.

I know, but i'm sure it has the bclk feature in the bios. The highest i can see is like maybe 200 mhz more out of the cpu.

I had an Asus Z77 motherboard before and it overclocked well but I'm on a tight budget at the moment and i can only buy this motherboard. I'm sure this motherboard won't affect performance in games considering i have a GTX 1070 8gb.
