I have a Biostar TA790GX 128M motherboard. I just switched over to Windows 7 Ultimate from Windows Vista Ultimate....both 64-bit. The problem is, in Vista the computer would hibernate no problem. Since the switch to 7 it will go into Hibernate but nothing wakes it up i.e. Mouse, Keyboard or Power Button. All settings have been checked. It is set so Mouse or Keyboard will wake it. I did disable Keyboard to just allow mouse and still no wake. If I select to Hibernate the computer it will Hibernate and I can wake it with the power button.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

This happened to me before. I'm pretty sure there was a windows update that fixed it, also you have to disable something like hybrid sleep mode in windows power management settings.

Also, I think hibernate is really only for laptops and desktops should use sleep.

I disabled onboard graphics in the bios and have went to power management, everything is set where it should be. All updates are done to the OS. I truly believe it is the Hybrid feature on the motherboard which they stopped after Vista. Go figure. As to why it will not come out of hibernate, I think it is because the video/hybrid part of the MB drivers still install and somehow still access them. I am going to go into the drivers and remove this portion and see what i can come up with. (Yes I am a Computer System Technician/Programmer...Software "Adjuster" 😉....so I am not worried about doing this.) Was just hoping somebody had seen this before with this MB and had a quick fix.
