The current ShellShocker deal at NewEgg is a Biostar TH67+ mobo for $69.99

It has the basic features I want - socket 1155, USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s and 4 RAM slots (so I can start with 8 GB and move to 16 without having to get rid of my old DIMMs)

It will be for a general purpose machine that I will be gaming on, most likley to add a 6850 or 7770 for graphics, depending on proces when I buy the card.

I like having tweakability just to play around, but I'm not a serious overclocker, and really don't care too much about it. A nice BIOS is always good, but I can live without all the features.

So, should I get this while it's on sale? How does Biostar rate generally? Solid? As long as the board is reliable and has SATA6, USB 3, and 4 RAM slots I think I'll be happy.

Any good alternatives for $70?

I gotta know in the next 68 minutes! 😉

Thanks in advance

of you're not spending a lot on a general machine i would go for it, I've used biostar on econ-builds never having any problems. maybe read the reviews it's getting but take them with a grain of salt, I find people leave reviews more if it fails, rather then post it worked for them for X years.

Not a bad board, but the x4 slot is a waste. A 2nd card in it will bring down the whole graphics subsystem. I had a x16, x4 system awhile back. But not for long. Another thing... The first card will cover the only practical expansion port you'd have available. Personally, I would prefer this board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130584
I feel MSI is a step above Biostar, and this has all solid caps. Plus 3 sys fan ports. I just built a budget gamer for a client with it and it is nice.
