It's 2016 and programmers are still sending security credentials for networked devices in plain text?

This type of stupidity is how we get Skynet and Cylons, and zombies; which is probably what these morons want.

I think what these morons want is to make a killing on the quickly diminishing 15-minutes of fame that IoT is now enjoying. They are hoping to prey on people who have no technical skill, and are ignorant enough about technology and internet security to buy these devices.

IMHO, no one should be buying IoT devices until the manufacturers commit to implementing measures that make these devices secure.
