Bitdefender Total Security 2016 no console controls

I am using Bitdefender 2016 Total Security. I cannot get the console to show. It starts and shows up in the tray in the lower right, but it will not actually open the console so I can do nothing. I right click on the tray icon, select "Show", and nothing happens. I double click the desktop link, nothing happens. I select the executable from the windows menu, nothing happens.

It is running because it's ransomware blocker is blocking my Steam games. But I can do nothing - because I can't open any console.

I assume win 7 up to date? It might be a .net version of something. Odd its working but won't show its settings window, I can't find anything similar.

I may have figured it out - I use Razor Cortex and it has a boost setting that supposedly limits antivirus-type apps to speed up games. It could be a conflict. When the problem occurred, I had the boost activated. I turned the boost off, but still could not bring up the console. But after restarting without the boost, the console worked again. I've seen the problem before, but it was intermittent. Hard to know for sure, but now the console is working without boost.
