I first bought this fan because I thought it would be be cool to have a white led instead of my stock red one, and have been surprised with the amount of noise it makes even on the 7v adapter.

I have 2 antec truquiet rubberised fans which are amazing,

Are the spectre pro's known to be loud?

And is it worth getting a noctua fan to replace it or am i just being a bish

Solution
Generally reviews seem to list those fans(I am guessing the 120mm 1200rpm version?) as not overly loud.

Maybe you have a defect. Also many sleeve type bearings to not like to be used horizontally so if you have the fans on the top of the case, it may be part of the issue.

You could try in outside of the case to see if the fan makes the noise as well. Sometimes the vents on a case interact with the airflow from the fan and cause noise.

My SilverStone Air Penetrator fan did not like being an intake on the floor of a fractal Define R2 case at all, while some other fans sounded just fine on that location.

I have used Noctua fans in a horizontal position without issues so far despite being a sleeve type bearing. I even had a...

I have used Noctua fans in a horizontal position without issues so far despite being a sleeve type bearing. I even had a SilverStone generic sleeve(made by Globefan) for over 2 years like that(when it did start to fail it slowly got louder, but never stopped because I replaced it.).

Solution
I have it situated on the side panel to exhaust hot air from my gpu (vertically), but thanks for the insight, and yeah 120mm 1200rpm verion, no way in hell it stays true to the 18.9dba.

Might look to replace it one day, i guess it does its job so i cant complain

How does it sound in open air?
If it is defective, it is worth getting it replaced while you still can. Many stores will straight exchange it.

While I can hear Noctua 1200 rpm fans they are not "loud". Even other 120mm like the Glodefan based one did not sound too loud, but I kept the speeds down via my system bios as well.

Right now I have one Noctua 140mm running at about 500 rpm and 2 AP15(rated for about 1875, but high 1700 on mine.) running at about 840rpm each. Not silent, but again not loud either.

I would have to guess the other fan is defective.
