Bitlocker i5 mobile 1st gen. performance

Hello,
I'm on Thinkpad X201, i5 m520 1st gen CPU, 6gb RAM and 256 gb SSD. If i encrypt the disk with a Bitlocker (Windows 10), would the performance decrease noticeably?

While encryption does impact performance in a measurable fashion, it's such a small amount that in day-to-day use you will never see it.

Does it add to SSD wear?

At the mo there's a TPM vulnerability and unless there's a firmware update for whatever, something may happen to it or your data

I'm gonna run encryption without TPN anyway
However it seems that as with latest Windows 10 update, TPM must be on in order to use Bitlocker

So I'll probably use Veracrypt
