For the first time in my life I actually own legal copies of Windows, Office etc and I seem to be having more trouble than ever before.

I automatically upgraded this tablet to windows 10 from windows 8.1, then attempted to remove the login screen (specifically needed to try or the tablets going back to collecting dust) and in doing so somehow managed to remove myself as the systems admin.

I can log in to the tablet just fine using an alternative microsoft account, I just cant do anythin gon it worthwhile for me. When I attempted to get the bitlocker key, microsoft had a phone number thats about 10 years out of date on record, so I changed it and was told I had to wait until next month before getitng the bitlocker key.

I know why they do it, I was just wondering if theres any way around it given for once I actually have a legit copy of windows here. I made a bootbale 8.1 USB and attempted to hook it up tothe tablet via a usb->micro usb adapter but apparently the thing cant boot from USB or it is at least not recognising the usb stick is there.

Has anyone on here who owns this tablet or been through something similar found a way around the bitlocker?

Bitlocker is an encryption utility from the OS's makers. You may be in possession of a legit copy of your OS but the above statement cannot be used to prove you're the owner. It'd be good for you if you could hold out and contact Microsoft. You could reinstall Windows 10 using a bootable USB installer but since it's discontinued, the unit may not support Windows 10 to begin with.
