Bittercup - Too late?

This looks like an incredibly powerful item - raise your highest attribute,
lower your lowest. But since I've already maxed 4 attributes (Strength,
Speed, Endurance, Agility), is it too late for me to get any advantage out
of this? I'm assuming you can't raise any stats higher than 100. I had
another quest that granted me +2 to Strength, but only after I'd already
maxed it, so I got nothing. I'm guessing this thing is just a waste now
then? Or will it take the highest attribute that isn't already maxed?

yes.

Yep, and to add injury to insult, the cups negative effect
will still be applied to your lowest attribute.

Careful, though. If you now plan for your next character to run to the
Bittercup at level 5 to get some stats boost: You need the bittercup for
a guild quest (from earlier posts I conclude you did not join this guild
with your current Nord).
However, I'm not sure if that Bittercup guild quest has an alternate
solution, if the Bittercup has already been used and destroyed.

It might be better to leave the Bittercup alone. But one of the
skeletons there (the wizard) has one of my favourite artifacts, so
visiting the place is still worthwhile. :)

Could you not try to drain the attribute? And when it is done then restore
the attribute? I have not tried this myself yet and i am not sure that when
the restore of the attribute happens it will increase the number past 100.
Try it... although like i said, i am not sure...

When the game first came out on Xbox, After some messing around and several
10 hour + gaming sessions, I had a 47th level character that had a 105 in
INT due to a CE fort attrib item (I think actually 2 items) but I cannot
tell you as I no longer have the game for my xbox (I like mods too much)

on a side note, does anyone know if the GOTY for xbox will load the regular
versions character/save game?

Restore will not raise an attribute above 100 regardless of what it was
before. Also if you have an attribute drained to say 80 and raise it to
100 with a fortify attribute spell restore will not do anything. When
the fortify attribute spell wears off you will have the attribute at an 80.

Yes, but not a peaceful one.

Ah yes - I think I remember who you mean. Can't remember the name but
do remember the quest. Last time I did it I had been up north cleaning
out caves etc. and offed said black hearted necromancer before I ever
got said quest....
