Black and white display

I recently got an AMD 270x and noticed black bars surrounding my screen. After some research I found the overscan option and was able to get fullscreen. Problem is, whenever I overscan and get the fullscreen I get all black and white! I have to uninstall/reinstall the newest drivers in order to get color back. It is not changing any color settings anywhere (i did a before and after check on every color setting i could find on my second attempt). I'm at a loss here and need some help!

Sure! My monitor is a Samsung s27d590 connected with an HDMI cord. Other specs:

CPU AMD FX 4100
Mobo ASRock 970 extreme3
Gpu as above
8gb ram
500gm ssd

Is there anything else that would be useful?
