Black area Benq monitor

The following a picture of my Benq g2411HD monitor. As you can see there is an area of black pixels in corner. This seems to be slowly increasing in size.

Any idea what causes this? Is repair at all possible?

To me, that looks like the pixels are going at an alarming rate - how old is the monitor? If it's still in warranty you might be able to get a free replacement.
