Black around screen - Screen Adjustment

I have a CRT Monitor (Dell M992) that I use. The problem is, it's hard for me to adjust the screen properly to fit the monitor exactly, so I just don't mess with it cause something always goes wrong. I was wondering if there is some way to adjust it perfectly, or even auto adjust it (I was thinking maybe there are some guides around the internet, which shows the exact number properties for the correct position. My resolution is 1280x1024 (Native Resolution). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

That is one of the things I always hated about CRT monitors: the constant image size problems. . .

Anyway, the is no magic shortcut to perfectly adjust it. I have never seen a CRT that has auto-adjust; just LCDs seem to have that feature.
