Hi All, Thanks for helping all of us Novices.
Please take a look at these pics, I don't know how to fix it. Used to be able to play with a full screen. Not sure what happened. Picture is not great but the screen has 2" Vertical Bars on either side of the game screen. When I play in a Window the window is off the screen a little and I cant get to the desktop from the game, win 8 brings me to that touchscreen ?
Thanks
VIP Christian

You're playing a very old game that does not have 16:9 resolution support, at least not right out of the box. The black bars are normal if you are running the game at 4:3 resolutions that were common back then eg. 1024x768, 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. Your monitor may have an option to stretch the image to fill the entire screen, but it will make the image look horizontally stretched.

Try searching Call of Duty: United Offensive Widescreen fix to see if some modders have patched in support for widescreen resolutions if you want the game to fill your entire screen without stretching the image.

Hi,
I change a couple of commands, then refreshed my pc, ouch. I was looking for system restore. So I had to do a clean install any way. I went in config and changed seta com_max fps "85" ( to 125)
Messed with Hunk meg command changed it to 512 but tried 2048 didnt have enough memory for that.

But this problem was before these changes, even with a clean install its not working.

Hello,
I dont see any stretch options, graphics are very limited on this thing. I have searched for Widescreen Fix but not much comes up. Thanks

The stretch options would be on the controls for the monitor itself, though I don't really recommend that. Were you using any sort of customized config file with the game before you made the modifications? If you were that might have been how you got widescreen support before, but when you made the changes, the resolution options reverted back to a 4:3 resolution. Try looking for some parameter that says height and width and try changing them to whatever widescreen resolution you're trying to support eg. width=1920 height =1080

Ok, Thank You
Height and Width, cool
