Well I just recently decided to build another computer for a second location. And of course Black Friday is upon us and so I wanted to see if you guys good give me good suggestions on what parts to go with. I'm out of touch of what would be the best deal for what I'm looking for and what parts are compatible, so any help is GREATLY appreciated.

This is going to be a gaming computer and want it to be on the higher end of nice. I play a lot of FPS games, RTS games like: Men at War Assault Squad 2, Rome 2 Total War (I love the Total War series of games) and planning on getting 3 Kingdoms Total War when it comes out. I might try out Far Cry latest and greatest. So essentially I want to make sure all the games run smoothly with this setup. EDIT: I suppose I want it a similar build to what I have listed below, if not better. Better if at all possible.

Budget I haven't really decided yet as I forget how much I spent on my last build but it would be great to keep it at $1400 to $1600

I would like a nicer monitor but nothing too expensive but good for gaming. Something that is wide with great resolution that is good for gaming, especially for FPS games. I have a back up monitor I might use instead of getting a new one so I will leave the monitor out of the budget for now but would still like suggestions on those.

I have a keyboard and mouse already so that would leave the guts of the computer, a tower (which I believe I want to go with a full size tower, that is easy to clean)...

EDIT: Just found my old list of my last build. Those are old links below so I'm sure they don't work. I believe my video card is a 970 MSi, I will have to check on that.

I'm not too familiar with Gigabyte as a brand. Are their products worth getting? I want to save money wherever I can but I will spend a little more to get something that is reliable with a game name.

Gotcha.

I've never been an AMD guy but someone sent me this link that has clouded my judgement, ha.

Nevermind, I'm getting my DDR memory numbers mixed up.

Ahhh, good to know. I've heard great things about AMD's 2700 Ryzen just from an article I saw on here......and Linus Tech Tips. Incredible performance AMD is putting out.

The motherboard you suggested in the second group would still work with the 8 core Intel, right? This one:

Yeah and if you want to pay a premium, you could go with Intel for a small percentage of additional performance. In my humble opinion, games are now starting to take better advantage of multi core performance and AMD is where it's at, when it comes to price to performance:

Now that is a killer video card. With my last build I was getting pulled towards AMD but chickened out and stayed with Intel. With this latest round of AMD products the pull is far stronger. It's hard to beat their performance for price. I may still chicken out and stick with Intel though......decisions decisions. Thanks for post the AMD approach, that gives me something to compare with, namely I can get a killer 1080 GPU with that setup instead of a 1070. And I do love ASUS products.

Oh yeah, I edited my previous post when you must have been in the middle of responding to my last one and missed my update, but quick question. The motherboard you suggested in the second group would still work with the 8 core Intel, right? This one:
