Black friday upgrade?

So its black friday and I'm thinking about upgrading my computer. But I don't know if the changes from my old pc to the new will be big enough price wise. I'm only using the computer for gaming on a 1440 panel.

so my current rig is:
i5 6600k
8 gb ddr4 ram
1080 GTX nvidia

I'm thinking about getting a
i7 9700k or i5 9600k
atleast 16 gb ddr4 ram
ASUS ROG STRIX Z390
and reusing my 1080 GTX

the i7-9700K is a little over-priced and only gives about a 10-20 FPS bump vs the i7-8700K in most games. I'd get:

Intel Core i7-8700K
16 GB @2666 MHz minimum
GTX 1080
Samsung 970 Pro with the money you save on the CPU?
