Question Black lines showed up on brand new monitor then just disappeared. Should I return?

I purchased an ASUS VP249QGR and it just arrived. After unboxing it then setting it up, i left to eat lunch then when i came back its was like this (link of photos above). There's no visible damage or anything but it was like this, so i left it because i had to go to school and after returning, i turn on my computer again then everything went to normal. Does someone know what problems makes this show up? Is this a problem with wires, monitor, system unit, gpu, or electricity?

what refresh rate are you running?
tried swapping display cables?

most results are just for lines at bottom of screen, not all over it like yours. Or for laptops.

I don't see any other cases like yours so could be a bad monitor. I would watch it for a few days and see if changing cables helped.
