black ops 2 depth of field fps drop

ok so i have no idea whats wrong with this game. i have an amd 7850 and it runs great but when i have dept of field to high and i aim down the sight the fps drops from like 70-90 to 40-60 depending on the situation. dept of field on low fixes the problem though. is this a bug or what?

Depth of field effects can be demanding on your graphics card, if you crank it up, you will get framerate drops unless you have a really powerful GPU. The DoF effects are also used a lot more when you aim down the sights. If you want to keep your framerates higher, then you'll just have to turn that setting down.

yea its wierd. i dont have that problem with mw3

In BLOPS 2 they did actually make some improvements to the graphics engine which hadn't really been changed since CoD4, as a result, BLOPS2 is more graphically demanding than its predecessors.

thats true. what do you think about cod ghosts? same as mw3 graphic wise?

I imagine Ghosts will perform about the same as BLOPS 2 unless they have decided to make even more improvements to the graphics to take advantage of the next gen consoles. Hard to say until the game is actually out.

i see, well thanks man. and i made a mistake getting the 1gb version of the 7850 i game at 1080p and cant do msaa beside bops2 . games like far cry3, tomb raider,etc have fps drops even at 2xmsaa :/
