Edit: Finally found a thread with a similar situation. They found that there was no more freezing after the Catalyst Control Center was uninstalled. Is this safe to do?

Here's what's going on:

The day after Black Ops 2 came out, my system started having hard crashing issues. There was no trigger that I could find... Sometimes it would crash after 2 minutes of playing online, sometimes I could go well over an hour. There's nothing specifically that I can find that causes it. I haven't noticed it in any other games either... I've played full games of League of Legends without having any issues. I'm pretty sure I played some Assassin's Creed 3 and Hitman: Absolution without issue. I faintly recall having it happen in Hitman: Absolution once, but that's a slight possibility. I just tried updating my graphics drivers, to no avail.

Essentially, what happens is a total system lockdown. Video freezes, keyboard+mouse stop working, and all audio (from all applications, not just CoD) immediately stop (no audio stuttering). I have to hold the power button to do a hard reboot just to get my system working again. This is getting extremely frustrating, as every time it happens (frequently) I lose both my experience from that match as well as get marked a loss. I opened a support ticket to no avail so far. I figured I would try here before trying the Call of Duty forums as it seems like getting help there is a bit farfetched. I should also mention that this isn't a heat issue: the case doesn't even feel remotely hot.

Oh, and here's system info:

I've got the same problem...
I'll try with Catalyst Control Center off first.
And if it still happens I'll try uninstalling it.

Catalyst Control Center can be uninstalled safely(In the past). Haven't tried it in a long time.

Has anyone found an answer to this?

It is happening to me too. The game was flawless for the first month but since March 29th it freezes on me nearly 100% of the time. However the crashes are at totally random points. Sometimes early game, other times mid, and sometimes at the very end.

Occasionally I will get a blue screen like this:

I have an HD6870, however I know of other people with GTX660s who have the same problem.

Have you found an answer yet? (I hope)
