Alright so I have had my computer for over a month now and everything right now is going great. I decided I wanted to buy Black Ops 2 so I could play with my friends, but every time I try to join a match it takes an easy 2 minutes to actually load up the game and by the time it loads it disconnects me from the server anyways. I have tried 30+ times and I only got lucky enough to get into 1 match. I did download this from Steam. Is it possible that the problem may be that I don't have a graphics card yet? I have waited a long time for the GTX 760 to come out, but when it did I was on vacation. So I only got to order it two days ago. Here are my other specs:

i5-3570k OC at 4.2GHz.
ASRock z77 Extreme4
*GTX 760 soon*
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM
Samsung 120GB SSD
Windows 7
Corsair TX650 PSU

I do have Black Ops 2 downloaded on my HDD rather than my SSD but I didn't think that my harddrive was causing the problem because CoD4 is downloaded on the HDD and loads completely fine. I was thinking that it could be an internet issue... my internet is total crap. I know this because it took 7 hours to download Black Ops 2 at a rate of about 250-550 KB/S, but on Xbox I never have issues loading or connecting to the games.

If you guys could give me any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not entirely sure what the exact problem is, but you could try and verify integrity of game cache (right click the game in the Steam library, click "Local Files" tab and click "Verify integrity of game cache"). This may take a while, depending on the size of the game. If it finds any files missing, it'll re-download them. I cannot assure you that this is the problem, but it has helped me in the past.

Sure Ill try that, but just to make it a little easier to understand...

When I join a game it takes a long time to load (about 2-3 minutes). Once it finally loads after those 2-3 minutes it just kicks me from the game anyways saying that I disconnected from the server.

I don't think its an HDD problem, and thinking it might be an internet problem. Not sure though.

No need to explain. I already understood perfectly fine.

I wouldn't imagine that an internet problem would affect loading times.

Okay I tried the "Verify integrity of game cache" on Steam and that did not seem to fix the problem. Thanks for the reply though.
To be honest, without a graphics card I have held off from playing any single player games, or many games in general. I don't know if this counts haha but minecraft loads pretty fast, doubt that would help though. Every game I have tried on this computer has worked fine until I downloaded this game.

Swifty I will re-install, but I want to see if people have any other suggestions first because reinstalling would be my last resort as it took 7 hours to install it the first time! :(

I don't reckon a re-install is required.

You may have a problem with your HDD, but if other games function fine on it then it shouldn't be a problem.

If you have enough free space on your SSD you could move the game over and see if it runs fine there.

Edit: I keep thinking that this could be a firewall problem, but as you already got into a game once before, I have to dismiss this possibility. Though you could do yourself a favour and check the firewall settings anyway. I don't recommend that you disable the firewall, but just see if Black Ops 2 is blocked or allowed.

I tried moving the files over to the SSD earlier today. It did not work but I think I missed some files because I couldnt even start the game up at all. Probably will give that another go. If that doesn't work than I will try out your firewall suggestions. And yes swifty lol. Gotta love Bell internet. I would KILL to have Rogers, but I can't get it up where I live. :(

Ok I tried moving the files over to the SSD but when I tried starting the game through steam it came up saying "Failed to start game (missing executable)". Not sure what this means or what I am doing wrong so yeah... But I have another question. If I have Steam downloaded on my SSD (which I do) and then I download Black Ops 2 on my HDD (which I do), could this be the problem?

Not completely sure what you mean Swifty, you want me to move the game files that I transfered to the SSD back to the HDD and try playing the game again? If so I have already done that and the game starts up fine, but still the same problem with the slow load times. :p
