Hi

I bought and installed some new RAM, a video card and Windows 7 Home 64bit oem.

All the hardware and software installations seemed to have gone fine until I restarted my computer after installing the drivers for my Sapphire 5770 card. After the reboot I got to the "loading Windows" bit and the screen goes black and never changes. I've tried using a Driver Cleaning program to get rid of as much stuff as possible, but I still can't progress past that point.

I'm not really sure if the problem is hardware, software, incompatibility etc. Help would be appreciated.

Here is the rest of my config:

I've put this in the Graphics Cards section because I'm pretty sure the problem revolves around it. thanks

Bit of an update. After doing some searching it appears that there may be issues with this care and PCI-e 1.0 mobos. Funny thing, though, is if I disable/remove the Catalyst driver and restart my PC works OK (for basic stuff, anyway). Even the hdi-out to my TV works fine. The reason this is odd is because I heard that my mobo doesn't have an onboard video card.

So...my video card works but the drivers screw it up? More confused than ever :(

Alright then. Since no fix appears to be forthcoming, what is my best option? Can I return the video card and get another one? Replace my motherboard? What's the cheapest/easiest solution?
