Black screen after entering windows

Hi guys,

I'm using a desktop for just over a year without too much issue. However a few days back, it started black screen while playing games.

Here's the sequence of events from the error while playing:

1) Black screen

2) Monitor shows "No signal" after searching for input

3) Computer goes into sleep mode

After which I need to hard restart it.

I can go into safe mode, so I thought it might have been a driver issue or malware. So, I did a scan, which turned out nothing and I did a clean delete of the graphics driver and reinstalled it.

It worked for a single boot up and I was able to get back to gaming, however it started happening again.

I decided to just reformat the machine to see if its software related. When it was done, the same thing happened.

I'm currently only able to go into safe mode.

Any ideas?

Hey, no, I don't have another card to test. Does it sound like a video card issue?

Hi, I'm using a Nvidia GTX530 card. I tried switching my cables from VGA to DVI, but the problem still persists.

Strange thing, though, its quite intermittent. So sometimes I'm able to turn it on and run games, but other times it'll black screen.

then check your cable and the monitor on another system if you could ,and if everything work good it is the graphic card .
