I just recently upgraded my graphics but am getting a black screen when booting up,I'm running a

ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX Motherboard
AMD FX PROCESSER BLACK EDITION 6 CORE 5.0 GHz
2X8GB CORSAIR VENGENCE DDR3
EVEA 700w Power Supply
MSI R9 390 Graphics card but at this point in time still using the MSI R9 380 Graphics
HP w1907v MONITOR with DVI-D DVI MALE 24+1PIN TO VGA FEMALE SVGA 15PIN VIDEO MONITOR ADAPTER 10
Windows 10 OS

Any help would be very much appreciated

Check for a newer BIOS and chipset driver for the motherboard. Was this a new or used card? Was anything overclocked when you changed the card? If it was, set to stock speeds and try again. Did you try without the adapter. DIV-D to VGA won't work unless you get an active adapter with most monitors. That is actually the most likely issue.

Everything is new i bought the motherboard, ram,PSU Evea 500w,graphics msi 380 and processor last September, from Scan computers,i bought the new graphics & PSU EVEA 700w around a week ago now and i need the converter as i have a vga moniter, also i have another converter to be able to use the monitor with the MSI R9 380 graphics as well, which is a different pin set to what the 390 graphics card is. I need a different adapter for both graphic cards, which i have, just can't get anything on the monitor with the 390 graphics in i bought the monitor converter for the 390 graphics then tried that, but got the black screen, so bought another from a different place just in case and i still have a black screen not sure if this makes any differance but i forgot to put what case i have it is a CiT Defender Case

Test the card without the adapter on a different monitor. Your R9 380 most likely has a DVI-I port which will work with the VGA adapter. The MIS R9 390 has dual DVI-D ports, which won't without one of these things, or a similar product https://www.cdw.com/shop/products/Tripp-Lite-DVI-D-to-VGA-Active-Adapter-Converter-Cable-6in-6-Inch-1920x1200/3551884.aspx?cm_cat=GoogleBase&cm_ite=3551884&cm_pla=NA-NA-TRI_CC&cm_ven=acquirgy&ef_id=Vqt3PwAAAZWOde6h:20160919171051:s&gclid=CK7E6Kb2m88CFUtbhgod3gcOLQ&s_kwcid=AL!4223!3!61836302419!!!g!18283950120!

Sorry my bad it's a six core processor not 8 lol just noticed

Fair nuff mate, boards OK for 6300 .

You'll have to try one of those converters mate , in all honesty you ought to be on the lookout for a new screen.

A 390 is wasted on 1440x900 , you won't see a lot of difference from the 380.

Do you not have a led TV with HDMI input just to try it on ??

I do just not got the cable and if i have a cable for PC to TV I can't remember 🙁 my TV'S a 40'' LED 1080p Widescreen. I have no doubt the 390 would work on that, but what monitor should i be looking for i only ask because i would like to record more games for my You Tube account as the R9 380 is stopping me because of the lag i get

I would have thought the 380 could do OK if you were using the raptr recoding feature built in?

However I understand the need for a better card if you're recording while playing.

Monitors ?? Depends how much you have to spend at the max .

If you are happy with your current res , that adapter will do the job I'd be 99.99999% certain.

I'm assuming you got that 390 at a very very good price??
Otherwise I can't see why you didn't go for a 480 in all honesty

On another note are you sure the lag is down to the CPU??

If you're running a single drive in your PC that can be a big culprit, spooling game data while recording video can cause massive stuttering ingame on a single drive.

Likewise dxtory & obs have big big CPU overheads unless you dial down settings a lot.

i have 2x 1 terrabyte harddrives but mainly run of the main drive which is C there's barely anything on my D drive that could be my main issue (well not could be,more then likely it is) with the lag when recording lol
