My motherboard is GA-P55-UD3P , and my old ram Kingston KVR1333D3N9 / 2gb. Then I buy new ram Kingston KVR1333D3N9 / 4gb. But after I replace my ram, my monitor just show black screen. I take that ram to the shop where I bought new ram, then ask them to install new ram to my CPU, but they say my VGA has broken and I need change my VGA. But I'm not change my VGA because not sure my VGA broken or not because my computer work normal when I install my old ram. Few month later I buy another ram Kingston KVR16N11S8 /4gb. But I got same problem with black screen.

Please help me find solution for my problem.

Ps: my OS win 7 32 bit

And sorry for my bad english

Your mother board only accepts 2GB sticks so to get 4GB you should get a 2x2GB kit. It should be mentioned that your 32bit OS will only show 3.5GB or something like that. I can't remember but it actually only supports 3GB.

According to your mother board memory sheet this should work
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193

and by the way don't take your computer back to that shop.

It is always best to run matched pairs of like sized and like frequencies but on most decent new boards it should work fine with different sized sticks. The thing is it will run in single channel mode which is less efficient. A system with one stick of ram is running in single channel.

Try the RAM in different slots. See how some slots are white and others are blue. Try the sticks in the same colored slots or different colored slots depending on how you had it first. As for the CPU usage, you might try a BIOS update.

I think it should be where the x.x is. You are going to have to visually find it on the board.

It looks like it would be by the PCI slots, right in the corner.

Edit: Since your at F3 bios version, you most likely have rev1 but have to make sure.

Wow. That is good news. I was worried there for a bit. :) The BIOS update allowed you to install ram and your computer works now?

One thing I may have been wrong about and I'm sorry for this but I think your board does support 4GB ram sticks. Just when they did the compatibility checks they used all 2GB sticks. Either way 4GB is the limit for your 32bit OS but anyway, you have RAM that you can use in a future upgrade/build.

Glad you got it working!
