[SOLVED] Black screen after MOBO splash screen when using DVI-D

when trying to to boot up my PC using a DVI-D cable i get a black screen right after the motherboard logo, but when using and HDMI the computer starts up fine. I need the HDMI open for another input so im trying to get this DVI-D tow work. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

I would check the cable by using it on another machine, also insure that the monitor, cable, and GPU connector are all DVI-D and that one is not DVI-I.

I did that and still no dice, ended up being the cable! thanks for your input!
