Black screen after new ram

I am getting an black screen when i put both ram sticks in the motherboard and cannot get past the boot menu.

with 1 stick in i can get past the boot menu, but then an bsod shows up.

anyone have some idea what is going on?

ahhh, that can be the problem.

small update. tried to use the ram sticks on another system. the system boots up with both sticks as normaly.

maybe an tutorial how to set the amount of voltage in the BIOS? there isn't an direct option for that.

i can return it, but affording ddr3l just to try if it works is a little bit out of the question. I'm just going to refund this ram card and buying the exact same ram cards that is already in the pc.

I had this problem with an HP laptop and solved by adding one stick at a time. Keeping the original 2 GB stick in first slot and adding 8 GB to second slot. Then putting working 8 GB stick in slot one and adding new 8 GB to slot 2. Clicked through "RAM change error message each time. Saw momentary black screen but windows booted. Go figure.
