Hey.
I got a little problem. When I turn my PC on it goes to "Starting Windows" screen then just goes black but the mouse is still in sight. Then it restarts automaticly and goes to a screen where I have 2 options. Complete a startup that is (recommended) and start windows normally. When I press the first choice it cant fix it automtcly. I cant even open any of the safe-modes.. So I decided to post this here. I hope I will get some help without I need to buy anything new :) thanx hope theres a FREE sollution.

In the PM you sent you said that you ran a scan that found 400+ errors. What is the program that you used to run the scan and what type of errors did it find.

Was it a Virus Scan program, a Registry Scan program, a System Cleaner type of program, was it a program that ran scans before you were fully logged into windows, was it a program that ran scans without you telling it to???

I have no ability to know what damage may have been done without knowing what type of scan was run. Also there are many fake anti-virus and registry scan programs that are in fact viruses, so it could even be that type.

The generic CD does not have any drives or any of the prenstalled programs, you should not use this option unless you know how to obtain the drivers for it.

There should be a key combination that you can press at bootup that will take you to the options of your recovery partition. This will might wipe any files that you have on your computer. Some OEMs designed it to not delete the files in the user accounts but others will just wipe it all out.

Its not a matter of choosing the files you want, either the OEMs restore program keeps your files or it deletes them.

There are ways of getting your files before you wipe it. You can use a linux boot cd to mount your hard drive and save the files to a thumb drive, of you can remove your hard drive and hook it up to another desktop or you can hook it up to a laptop with a SATA-USB adapter.

Backups are your friend, windows corruption and hard drive failures are both very easy to have happen, you should always have a backup of your important files.

Hooking the drive to another windows computer is the easier option but requires either a desktop with open sata ports or a SATA-USB adapter as well as opening up the computer and removing the hard drive.

To make a linux live cd/flash drive and extract your windows files you can follow one of these two websites:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/

or

1) When you change something in the bios you have to select save and exit

2) When it first boots up it will display on a black screen asking you to push any key to boot from CD/DVD. If you do not push a key after a few seconds it will boot to your second device which is the hard drive that will not open windows.

Otherwise there is something you are not setting in the bios or there is an issue with your CD/DVD drive or there is an issue with your disc. Is your disc a retail disk that microsoft made or is it a burned version that a friend gave you, if it is a burned CD then whoever burned it could have done it wrong and it is not bootable and that is what your problem is.

You should be trying to backup your files though before trying to reinstall windows
