Black screen after Win 7 Pro start up

Hello,
My Dell laptop won't load past the windows start up screen.. then goes black sometimes with cursor, sometimes without. F8 does not work, safe mode with networking will not come up... help!

Some more background would be helpful. Is this a new laptop? Did it come with Windows 7 pre-installed, or did you install it yourself? More of the same, please. The more detail, the better.

Possibly a damaged graphics card. Try getting driversweep from somewhere and install it in safe mode. Remove graphics driver and u should be able to boot into Windows normally.

hey, i also found the same problem in my dell laptop studio. i installed, my laptop came with window vista , then i installed win 7 ultimate OS, after that i reinstalled win 7 pro OS. and now i am facing the same problem. i.e blank screen on start up sometimes. can any one please tell me that how should i reinstall the my first operating i.e window vista and when i bought laptop i got it without the cd of windows.
