Earlier today I was playing cs:go normally and then all of a sudden my graphics glitch out and everything goes grey. My pc stop responding and my cursor isn't visible and I can't access task manager.
I restart my computer using the reset button on the tower. It runs through the BIOS screen, then the windows coloured logo, then nothing. The screen looks like it's doing something but it just remains black after about 20 seconds. Nothing happens and I can't hear anything through to speakers.
I reset my computer again because I couldn't do anything and launched safe mode. I was able to log into my account and windows effectively launched correctly.
I performed a system restore, disk check and sfc/scannow command in cmd, but none of those worked.
My screen right now is still black after about 30 minutes of browsing solutions.
Any other advice people can give?

your gpu may have failed or the mb is using the onboard gpu. turn the pc off. pull the gpu see if it posts fine with the onboard video. if it does remove the video drivers and in the bios make sure primany display set to peg/pci. if it is turn off and put the gpu back in. see if after the drivers are installed the same error is there. if it is it may be a damaged anti virus program. use safe mode and turn every thing off in start up see if it boots fine and or reinstall the anti virus. if not your gpu may have been heat failure.. and i would rma it..if it under 30 day return it...see if for the same money can get the nnewer intel/amd cards that dropping in june.

Ok I'll try that, thanks for the quick reply.

EDIT: So I removed the GPU and ran the pc from the integrated graphics and it started up fine without safe mode running. I removed the graphics drivers and put the GPU back in and made sure the priority graphics adapter was on the PCIE slot. It still ran fine but then I started getting the error again once I installed the graphics driver again. The last time I updated my graphics drivers was probably a month ago so I find it hard to believe that the updated driver was the problem.
If I have to replace my GPU due to a fault then so be it, I won't be able to claim warranty however because it's at least a year old.

The problem may not be the graphics card or the driver you have installed.

It could also be due to the power supply you have in your system.

Depending on how old the power supply is, and if is not a very well branded power supply unit.
And was bought relatively cheap from a local computer shop.

It may be a sign that the power supply unit is not providing enough of a stable current.
Or fixed amount of wattage out put or amp out put.

When a power supply becomes faulty a system can exhibit all sorts of freezing, crashing or system lock-ups
Since it is the key component of any PC it should be the first thing you question and look at in a system that starts to freeze or lock up on you. Particularly when it happens when heavy power demand is required of it, such as playing a game.

You should at least if you have another system in the house or a power supply of equal wattage output from another system try it with it fitted to your system.

If the result is the system does not crash or freeze in anyway.
It confirms that the fault is with the power supply you had in your system.
