Hello, I recently built my first computer (3 months ago) and was overwhelmed with the outcome. However since then I have encountered a few problems with the system. The first major problem started to occur about a month after it being built. The system would regularly freeze on startup and get the blue screen of death, this was due to a DPC Watchdog Violation error.

Today I had become fed up of having to restart my computer over and over and so decided to fix the error. Before I could even get going the computer decided to crash once again, however this time it would not boot back up. Every time I decided to try and boot it back up I would hear a rhythmic beeping sound coming from the motherboard speaker and a black screen. The computer itself seemed to startup correctly (fans rotating, lights on, etc) but nothing seemed to startup. I'm panicking a little and I'm quite frustrated, all help/answers are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: It's actually more of a ticking sound that occurs every 2 or so seconds.

Specs:

Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
MSI Radeon R9 380 2GB Video Card
Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case
XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 OEM (64-bit)

(No SSD / 1 HDD)

Edit:I looked into the DPC error and it hinted at a faulty HDD or outdated drivers (all were updated) and some other things.

Thanks.

I'm 99% sure the ticking noise it coming from the miniature speaker device I installed when I built it, not the HDD :/

Also I have just noticed that my video card fans are not spinning, however the lights are on, not sure if that is something to take note of.

It's less of a beep and more if a ticking sound, also it has no order and is more a rhythm. Tick 2 seconds Tick 2 seconds Tick.

if its not a beep then its not a bios beep code...
as for the ticking pull your hdds 1 at a time and see if it stops. dont worry you can still power up a pc without a hdd attached it will just stop after the bios post and say not install media found.
if the ticking stops you found the issue if not then look at the psu.

I just disconnected the HDD and booted it back up, the ticking still continues.mI don't understand how it could be the PSU since everything seems active? I will try RAM next.

Ok I plugged the HDD back in, and took out both ram Ddr 1 and 2
I plugged a ram stick into ddr three and it booted up perfectly!
Thanks so much!
Can I now replace the other ram stick back in, and into their original places?

Edit: Works with them both back in, thanks a lot.
