Black screen during (somewhat highload) gaming?

Hello, I was playing World of Warships earlier today while suddenly during a match the screen turned black. I could hear sound still, and was able to use the keyboard to attempt to ALT+TAB, however the game didn't close using the ALT+TAB and pressing X method. So I used CTRL+ALT+DEL to sign out and in. I was also able to pop up task manager using the keyboard, although it didn't appear on top of the black screen (which I presume was my Warships session).

My NVIDIA Drivers say they are up to date, so is my Win10 version, and all my antivirus/malware is up to date and reporting no problems. I used MSI Afterburner and it suggested no temp. problems when it came to GPU/CPU when I last checked (5mins before the black screen). Am I correct in assuming this is just the game playing up, or could it perhaps be a RAM/HDD issue?

I apologise for the rant, thanks in advance!

It could be related. Makes sense.
Hi, is it a "software glitch" (ie a black square is over the top of everything) or is your display not receiving anything during that time?

Just a suggestion, but have you checked your PSU (power supply unit)?

If you have a beefy graphics card then it may be drawing too much current, in which case you may consider upgrading your PSU.

I'm not a real hardware person but I am just giving suggestions based on the little knowledge I have.

Hope this helps!

Hey, I think it was a software glitch, as I could still see other programs running using alt tab. About the PSU, I think it may be causing some issues but im not sure, its a EVGA GQ (650W) psu, which are supposed to be good for about 5 years, and my GPU is just a 1050 ti.

I recently had a sort of memory leak or problem, in which my PC was using lots of memory for no reason, although updating my NVIDIA drivers and then restarting seemed to have fixed the memory issue. Could this be related?
