I am trying to troubleshoot a very annoying problem. We are getting desperate...

What happens: short blackscreen with no audio, after that everything goes back to normal. Does not matter if you're playing video games or not. Happens sometimes even while watching a movie. They happen once a day in a very inconsistent manner.

He has I7-7700k,
MSI Z270 Gaming M6 (previous motherboard was ASUS Z270 MAXIMUS FORMULA with a few bent pins and not working two ram slots),
Kraken X42,
2x8gb ddr4 3000MHz G. Skill RGB ram
Supernova G2 850w power supply,
SSD 128gb,
1TB HDD,
massive ATX case
GTX 1080 inno3D triple fan
+1080p 60hz monitor with HDMI.
We tried switching motherboards, removing video card and using integrated intel hd graphics, reinstalling Nvidia drivers, changing motherboard, reinstalling windows, using computer without installing geforce experience. NOTHING OF THIS HELPED.
The only possible causes in my opinion are - RAM, CPU or power supply? I don't think it can be monitor just because audio disappears as well.
If you know ANYTHING about possible issue, please let us now.

I tried undervolting CPU and even decreasing GHz, setting it default - did not help. After changing motherboard - windows were kept the same. Temperatures are fine. the only strange thing is one of the fans show crazy RPM, sometimes even up to 30'000. But it is porbably a bug. I will send a picture in the evening (uk time).

I am sorry, but how can reinstalling windows once again while having a new mother help with this issue? We already did that in the most high end Asus motherboard. It did not change a thing. Also, SSD and HDD are independant from the motherboard. I can swap them with any modern computer and everything should work correctly, especially if GPU is the same.

What do you mean with board driver? Motherboards do not have any drivers unless you're talking about BIOS.

Wait, wait. Everything is working correctly. The issue IS THE SAME as before the change in motherboard. It does not matter, chipset drivers are basically identical. Reinstalling OS and all the drivers just because of switching motherboard is just wasting time, especially then EVERYTHING is working well.

Black screen problem had been for a while and switching motherboard and "using wrong drivers" is definitely not the cause of this issue.

As for the crazy RPM:

Intel does not have any pins on the CPU. Only motherboard has.

Yes, he did remove the plastic under Kraken X42. Yes, he used thermal paste on new motherboard.

So let's go back to the issue. There are only CPU, RAM, Monitor and PSU (both of which extremely unlikely) and storage devices SSD and HDD ( I have never heard that SSD or HDD would cause such issue).
